speeding green line
2022, Medford / Tufts Green Line Station, Medford, MA
materials: Images printed and fused on two sets of parallel glass panels
dimensions: 22’x 2.5’x 8″
Speeding Green Line was inspired by the visual blur of foliage when seen from a speeding train, by the “Green Line” name the commuter line, and by the dearth of landscaping at the station. The image on each layer of the parallel glass panels is interrupted by thin, transparent vertical lines which visually vibrate in a way that suggests horizontal motion as the viewer walks past and towards the public sculpture.
