materials: perforated sheet metal, paint, aluminum structure
dimensions: 18′ x 14′ x 3 1/2′

The rectangular layout for this temporary installation sits on the crumbling porch foundation for a house that no longer exists and recaptures the importance of this site as a viewing platform. The irregular edges of the installation’s “walls” respond to the surrounding vistas of woods and river.

On the inside of each of the four (40% transparent, perforated sheet metal) walls a view of the landscape is spray-painted in such a way that from one vantage the painted view blends with the changing seasons and weather conditions of the actual view. One particular moment of one particular viewpoint has been “captured” and now interacts with all those other moments and viewpoints. Differing lighting conditions drastically alter the quality of this visual interaction.
